As Nigerians usher in the New Year 2026, the Niger State Government has called on residents to remain united and committed to the collective progress of the state.
The message, conveyed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Obed Nuhu Nana, acknowledged that 2025 was a demanding year, marked by security challenges and social pressures that tested the resilience of the people. Despite this, he noted that Niger State endured through unity, patience, and continued confidence in governance.
Hon. Nuhu expressed appreciation to residents for their cooperation and support during critical moments, describing their trust as a key factor in sustaining stability and progress across the state.
Looking ahead, the commissioner urged Nigerlites to continue backing the administration of Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago as it drives the New Niger Agenda, a development framework focused on security, economic renewal, infrastructure development, good governance, and inclusive growth.
He emphasised that achieving these goals requires collective effort from citizens, community leaders, the media, civil society groups, and other stakeholders, stressing the need for vigilance, law-abiding conduct, and unity.
The state government, he assured, remains committed to transparent communication, responsive leadership, and policies that place citizens’ welfare at the centre.
He concluded with a message of hope, expressing optimism that 2026 will bring peace, expanded opportunities, and shared prosperity to Niger State and the nation at large.
