APC Unveils Timetable for Congresses, National Convention Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress has rolled out its full timetable for congresses and its National Convention as the party begins internal preparations for the 2027 general elections.

In a schedule released by the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, the process will kick off early next year with the issuance of notices for ward and local government congresses on February 2, 2026. The sale and submission of nomination forms will follow shortly after, running from February 4 to February 9.

Ward congresses are fixed for February 18, 2026, with local government congresses coming up two days later on February 20. Appeals arising from both levels of congresses will be considered between February 21 and February 22, indicating a tight window for dispute resolution.

State congresses are scheduled for March 7, 2026, while zonal congresses across the country’s six geopolitical zones will take place on March 21.

The exercise will culminate in the APC National Convention, slated for March 25 to March 28, 2026. The convention will formally wrap up the party’s internal electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls, setting the stage for leadership consolidation and strategic positioning as the election cycle draws closer.
