There is fresh controversy around Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre, a Toronto based church associated with Nigerian cleric Pastor Chris Okafor. A Nigerian man living in Canada has claimed that the ministry has been dissolved by the authorities.
The man made the allegation in a video posted on TikTok. He accused the church of operating under false pretences and declared that the organisation had been shut down.
In his words, Greater Liberation City International Ministry Centre which he linked to Pastor Chris Okafor was no longer recognised as an active ministry in Canada. He went on to call for the removal of one Pastor David Igbanor who he said held a work permit tied to the dissolved ministry.
According to him, the permit became invalid once the ministry ceased to exist, meaning Pastor Igbanor would have to leave Canada. He mocked the church and suggested that whatever miracles they claimed to perform should be taken back to Nigeria.
The claim adds another layer to the ongoing drama surrounding Pastor Okafor who has been facing public criticism and online backlash in recent weeks. The church is yet to publicly respond to the allegation, and there has been no official confirmation from Canadian authorities at the time of this report.
