20-Year-Old FCE Student Found Dead in Okene Community

A 20-year-old student, previously reported missing by her family, was found dead in a bush in the Eika-Adagu community along the Okene-Lokoja highway.

Relatives, with assistance from local security personnel, discovered her body on Monday. The deceased, Suleiman Rahama Onono, was a student at the Federal College of Education (FCE), Okene. She had been reported missing on Saturday, January 24, and had not been in contact with her family or friends since then.

Her sudden disappearance had sparked concern across her family, friends, and college community, prompting searches throughout the weekend. Following the discovery, her body was taken to Okengwe General Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.

Residents of the area have expressed alarm over the incident and are calling for improved security measures, such as better street lighting, to curb criminal activities. The Camp 2 area, where Rahama was found, has a history of violent crimes, including recent attacks that resulted in the deaths of two commercial motorcycle riders and the theft of their motorcycles.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, and residents hope swift action will prevent further tragedies in the community.
